The end is near, the end is near!
Well folks, we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as far as the room is concerned. I was a little nervous when we were getting started because we had a lot to do. However, we're almost done! Now we're I'm just looking for little accents to add here and there. I'm still on the hunt for a small black chandelier. I haven't been able to find one that was reasonably priced that I've fallen in love with. I'm hoping to find one, however, if I don't, it's not the end of the world. Keep your eyes open. :)
Here are two pictures of the room with the chair rail, prior to any furniture. FYI, the paint in the pictures looks a little deceiving. The dark pink looks red...it's not.
Once the furniture was built and put in the room, we learned quickly that this room was little. We have struggled trying to make it all fit, but it's coming together. It is a little snug...but it's all good. :) The furniture is absolutely beautiful. I could not be more pleased with it. I think it's elegant looking, I love it. I am also SO in love with the bedding. Every time I see it, I love it more. The bright colors are charming and it matches the walls perfectly.
Tony and Tara (Danny's brother and sister in law) are letting us use their chair and ottoman. They've used it for their two sweet boys and now they're passing it on. However, it's going to have to go in a nook in the hallway. If it were to go in the room, it would completely take over and the ottoman would be right smack dab in the center. We still wanted to be able to use the chair and ottoman...this meant we needed to compromise. I really wanted to have some sort of chair inside the nursery...
So, we decided to go with a nice, white rocking chair for inside the room. It should fit perfectly next to the window and won't take up too much room. It's the kind many people used years and years ago. I'm actually really excited about it--I'll post a picture as soon as we get it. The chair matches the furniture beautifully, and we're putting a black pad on it. It goes nicely with the bedding as well. We're all about matching...at least I am. :)
And now for the room...
I ordered the large "Harper Grace" decal off Etsy and I LOVE it! It was more than a pain to put it up, but we're both really happy with how it turned out. Danny and I almost got into a little boxing match because we would measure with the level, it would be off, and Danny would say something like, "It's good enough." No, good enough is not going to cut it. Doesn't he know this by now? I was not going to spend the money/time putting the sticker up and have it tilted on the wall. Sorry, D. :)
Here's the decal up close. When you're in the room, the sticker looks a lot larger than it does in the picture. It looks really small in the picture, but nice and bold on the wall in the room.

This will serve as the changing table as well.

The curtains look crooked in the picture...they aren't. :) Don't worry, I'm anal...I measured.

A couple things I've been making...I can't seem to sit still. However, I have been more productive these past few weeks than I have in years. I have gotten SO much done instead of coming home and taking a nap.

Blocks for Maternity/Newborn Pictures
It's hard to see how cute the paper is in just a picture. The paper is all sorts of beautiful in person. Other than maternity pictures, I'm not sure what we'll do with these...but at least they are cute.

Not to get your hopes up or anything, but Danny is in the process of writing Harper Grace a new song. His hope is that if he sings to her a lot while she's in the womb, when she is actually here, she will recognize his voice and will love it. No worries, when he is finished with his song, I'll be sure to put up a recording.
All I can say for now is that last night as he was writing/singing it, I was laughing hysterically. It mentions things like being a doctor, the nation's economic issues, and much more. Be excited. Be very excited. I am so incredibly blessed to have a husband who is so excited about his sweet baby girl. All of you who know Danny know that he's happy all the time as it is...but when he talks about the baby, he is giddy. I love it. And he loves her. Thank you, Lord for such a magnificent husband. :) I can't wait to see him hold that sweet girl for the first time.
One more picture...probably one of my most favorite pictures ever. Look who found Harper's bed...
