The Latest

It's been a while since the last update, but fortunately, nothing too exciting has happened regarding Miss Harper Grace. :) I had the flu two weeks ago and it completely knocked me off my feet. I had a 102.6 fever, I was freezing cold and sweating, coughing up a lung, which led to out-of-control asthma. It was as glorious as it sounds. Thankfully, it only lasted two days. As I'm sure most of you know, when you're pregnant, you can't take anything. So, that meant just letting it run it's course. Boo. Fortunately, my mom was able to call in some cough medicine that I could take at night, which eventually helped. However, I do NOT want to go through that again. My next appointment was a few days after I was sick, and Dr. Riegel was able to confirm that me being sick didn't affect Miss Harper in any way. :) Thank you, Lord.

I went to the doctor a few weeks ago for my monthly appointment and Harper wasn't excited about having her picture taken. We got a couple pictures that I'll post below, however, I can't tell you what any of them are. Dr. Riegel thought they were clear as day...but I still can't figure them out. The only one I can read is the one that shows her spine. Other than that, I've got nothing. I was hoping he'd be able to get a good picture of her lady parts so we could confirm that nothing has grown in that area...but she was being a lady and her legs were crossed and very together. He did mention that boys are not able to keep their legs that close together...so I took that as a good sign that it was still a girl. :)

Most of you know that Danny's 30th birthday was at the end of February. I'm not sure how, but somehow he ended up getting quite a few outfits for his little girl. All of them say something along the lines of "Daddy's Girl", "All I need is love and Daddy", etc.

Although I am an avid UT fan, I/Harper bought him an OU tutu/onesie/bow set. I've never been an OU fan, but knowing how much he loves OU, it made me so happy to picture him holding her while watching an OU football game with her wearing her matching outfit. Don't worry, I've told my mom that she's in charge of making sure a similar UT outfit gets ordered before HG gets here. If it doesn't get ordered, I'll buy it myself. She will have a UT outfit for football season. :)

Here's a few pictures of Daddy's presents. Don't feel bad for him, he got plenty of other manly gifts too. :)

My mom and I went to a consignment sale a few weeks ago as well. I got an incredible breast pump (sorry, men who are reading) for $75 rather than $300. Yes, it's used, but I will get all new parts and pieces at the hospital...so really, the only part that is used is the actual machine. I'm so excited about it. It was a blessing that I found it there. I was NOT going to pay $300 for a breast pump. No, thank you.

My mom and I stayed away from the clothes section because there were crazy women pushing around big ol' huge carts, ramming into people who were in their way, and acting nuts about used clothes. So, we decided not to mess with it. Instead, we played in the shoe section.

Now I know babies don't tend to wear shoes often, but hey, they are pretty darn cute. Mom bought HG a couple pairs of shoes...and somehow, she will wear them. It might only be when she is sleeping, but she will wear them. :) They were too cute to pass up...and extremely cheap. Cute and cheap, I'll take it.

On a side note: My friend Katie is having a baby in April. We had been talking about an "Owl Taggie Blanket" we had seen on Pinterest (a.k.a. Heaven). Katie had mentioned how badly she wanted one. I was determined to make it. I had no idea what I was doing...and the first one might have ended up in the trash, but after several attempts, SUCCESS! I was able to make one for baby Jake...but we'll see if I can make myself make another, for Harper. I might have had a slight temper while I was making it. :) I kept sewing things crooked, backwards, and all sorts of wrong directions. Luckily, I had Smiles McGee (Danny) next to me telling me that it was perfect and she would absolutely love it. I'm so lucky to have him and his positive self. :)

Lastly, here are the weekly pictures from the last few weeks. The last picture is terrible...but I've stopped caring. :) Just look at the belly where the sweet baby is growing inside.

An exciting note: All the furniture and bedding has been paid for! Thank you to to our parents and grandparents who so graciously volunteered to help. We are so lucky to have them. I absolutely can't wait to get the bedding. It should be here within the next week or so. I'm hoping it will get here over Spring Break so that we can start painting the room while I'm off. Eeek! So excited. Not to mention, maybe that will be a little motivation to get all the junk organized and moved out of her room. :) One can hope...

Keep praying for a healthy pregnancy. I've been SO very blessed so far. Thank you, Jesus! I can't wait to meet this sweet girl He has made for us.
