Dedication

On October 14 we had our sweet girl dedicated at our church. We were so thankful that so many friends and family wanted to be a part of the occasion. This girl is loved.

We decided to have her dedicated instead of the traditional baptism because we wanted that to be a decision she makes on her own when she is ready. However, as her parents, we wanted to make a commitment to her and to God to raise her in the church. We love our church. We really, really do. It's perfect for us. And everyone that knows her at church is already head over heels for her too.

Our hope is that when she makes the decision to accept Jesus into her heart, being baptized is something she will do at that time. It will be her decision, not ours.

We are pretty crazy about our pastor and were so grateful that he would be the one dedicating her. In all of our excitement, however, we forgot to have someone video tape the service. Thanks to sweet Katie Strong, we do have pictures. :)

I need to add that the outfit she wore was my absolutely favorite outfit I've ever seen for a sweet little girl. It had everything I loved. Ruffles, big ruffles. Matching bows. Fluffy flowers. Shiny things. It was beautiful. Some people might think it was atrocious...I, however, thought it was absolutely perfect. (Shout out to Chrysanthemum, in case any of you have read that fantastic children's book.) Just looking at it made me smile so big my face hurt. But seeing the precious little being in it just melted my heart. If I could afford to dress her like that every day...you can bet I would.

One of Mommy's very favorite pictures.

Thank you so much to everyone who came and shared this time with us. It was so special and something we will never forget. We have one lucky little girl who is loved by so many incredible people.
